#10 Damn
Boulders ~ Par 3 ~ 201 Yards
Beautiful, but treacherous hole with multiple tee locations
that change its character when looking across the lake
setting from the clubhouse toward the green. The left to
right green will require the proper club selection. Some
bailout left of the green. Maples behind green and weeping
willows along the lake. Enjoy the view; be careful. |
#11 Humpback ~ Par 4
~ 444 Yards
The longest and most difficult par 4 which is why it is the
#1 handicap hole. Wide landing area will receive a strong
tee shot-stay on the left side. The 2nd shot has a good look
at the green, but necessitates a quality shot to the large
green. |

#12 Tight Right
~ Par 4 ~ 334 Yards
Dogleg right medium length par 4. The tee shot should be
kept to the left half of the fairway and certainly avoid the
drop-off on the right side. The 2nd shot is uphill to a
two-level green which has severe breaks. Great Mountain
views from the green--take a look! |
#13 Long Mean ~ Par 3
~ 225 Yards
Longest par 3 on the course demands a strong tee shot to an
uphill green. Plenty of area short of the green, but makes a
par difficult. Use more club than expected to reach the
plateau green. More views with “Jump off Rock” behind the
green! |

#14 Big Ol’
Bend ~ Par 5 ~ 528 Yards
The first par 5 on the mountain nine is gorgeous. While the
tee shot looks difficult there is large landing area. After
finding the landing area, the 2nd shot is uphill to a wide
landing area which gives a good look at the large multilevel
green. The 45 yard deep green will require different clubs
depending on pin position. Collection areas are located both
to the left and right side of the green. |
#15 The Ravine
~ Par 4 ~ 401 Yards
One of the most beautiful holes and one of the most
treacherous--the tee shot must be carefully played with the
ideal length and line being near the 150 yard marker as seen
from the tee box. This is a very wide landing area, but
slopes toward the right side - those who get greedy and try
to cut the corner may be in trouble. The green is uphill and
will require a well struck 2nd shot. Distance and elevation
must figure into club selection as shots that come up short
will collect back down the fairway providing for a difficult
chip shot. Watch the Big Rock on the left side of the green!
Check the views as you leave the green--they may heal a
wound! |

#16 The Cliff ~ Par 3
~ 189 Yards
Perhaps the most spectacular view and golf hole combination
in the Blue Ridge Mountains! Look at the 270° glorious long
range mountain views everywhere. Oh yes, the hole is
exciting! Also…don’t be left or long or you may be gone.
Club selection and shape of shot are equally important. A
possible birdie or alternatively a dreaded other! |
#17 Mountain
Views ~ Par 5 ~ 534 Yards
This should be a fun hole sandwiched between demanding
finishing holes. Dogleg right potentially reachable par 5,
but don’t try to cut the corner or you may pay a heavy
price. The featured pear tree on the mound straight ahead
provides a great target. Once reaching the landing area
approximately two hundred yards remain to the green. “Go for
it” or lay up! The green is left to right and multilevel so
be careful with the approach. An eagle is a
possibility--soar like one through the mountains in view. |

#18 Forever
Mountains ~ Par 5 ~ 545 Yards
Spectacular 40-50 mile views of nine mountain ranges from
the tees!!! Downhill tee shot to a receptive landing area
and then an open 2nd shot to the preferable right side of
the fairway allow for a beautiful approach shot to the green
virtually surrounded by rock walls. Beware of the creek in
front of the green (protected by the large bunker on the
left) and the 3 bunkers on the right. Can possibly be
reached in two-with significant risk/reward. Clubhouse on
the hillside over the lake provides a dramatic setting for
this outstanding finishing hole! |
