The Henderson County North Carolina Schools strive to provide all students in the county with a well rounded, all encompassing education in a safe environment. Currently, the Henderson County North Carolina School system is comprised of 13 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, and 4 high schools, and one alternative school for elementary, middle and high school aged children with special needs and considerations.

The area is also home to numerous private schools. Two of the private schools in Henderson County NC are religiously affiliated and two are not. The Immaculata School is affiliated with the Catholic diocese and provides a catholic education to students in the area. The Hendersonville Christian School educates students from a Protestant Christian viewpoint. Both the Mountain Community School and Heritage Hall School are community private schools that foster diversity, and high achievement for all students.
